ALICE JABIC (Nee Atlookan)
The family announces with sorrow her death at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on June 20, 2017 at the age of 63. Beloved wife of Peter Jabic and dearest mother of: Vanessa Kashkeesh (Gabriel Kashkeesh) of Aroland, Melanie Jabic (Joe Nadon) of Thunder Bay, Valerie Jabic (Jason Tremblay) of Thunder Bay and Elizabeth Jabic (Bill Johnson) of Geraldton. She is survived by her brothers and sister: Morris Atlookan (Nora Atlookan) of Aroland, Allan Atlookan (Betsy Berens) of Berens River, Mary Atlookan of Aroland, Andrew Atlookan of Aroland, Peter Atlookan (Lisa Johnson) of Geraldton, Lionel Atlookan of Aroland, John Atlookan (Lillian Atlookan) of Aroland and Nelson Atlookan of Thunder Bay. She will be sadly missed by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by her father: Peter Atlookan Sr., her mother: Elizabeth Atlookan, her son: Merle Jabic and her daughter: Janice. She enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was a great cook and was a people person. She loved her singing and really adored her grandchildren and her daughters. Friends will be received at 111 Rolland Road, Aroland First Nation, as of 5:00pm June 24th. The funeral ceremony will be held at the Johnny Therriault School (AFN) with Deacon Hugo Tremblay officiating. The interment will be held at the Aroland Cemetery.
