DONALD JOSEPH MATASAWAGON
The family announces with sorrow his death at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on July 8, 2017 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Margaret Matasawagon and dearest father of: Desi Matasawagon (Ivy Gagnon), Darren Matasawagon (Stacey Matasawagon), Dawn Matasawagon, Danielle Matasawagon and Dinah Matasawagon (Brendan Bouchard), all of Aroland, Ontario. He is survived by his brother and sisters: James Matasawagon (Julia) of Aroland, Alice Kashkish of Aroland, Maggie Magiskan of Thunder Bay, and Sarah Matasawagon of Thunder Bay. He will be sadly missed by 18 grandchildren and 1 great-granchild. Pre-deceased by his father: Joseph Mendowegan and his mother Jane; his son: Darryl Matasawagon, his sister: Lottie Mobishwash, his brothers: Alex Matasawagon, Pius Mendowegan and Daniel Matasawagon. Friends were received at 99 Rolland Road (AFN) as of 6:00pm July 10, 2017. The funeral mass was held at the Johnny Therriault School on July 12, 2017 at 11:00am with Bishop Robert Bourgon officiating. The interment was held at the Aroland Cemetery.
