AGNES WENJACK
The family announces her death at the Geraldton District Hospital on September 1, 2017 at the age of 89. Agnes was a mother, wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, godmother, grandma, great grandma and great-great grandma. She loved doing many native cultural crafts. She loved her family and extended family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the matriarch of the family. There was a lesson to be learned in every story she told and she enjoyed comparing how life was like in the past to how life is like in the present. She appreciated and loved nature; loved camping, hunting, trapping and fishing. She always helped others in any way she could. She was a product of the residential school era. Agnes will be sadly missed by all who where touched by her presence. She is survived by her daughters: Daisy Munroe, Pearl (Gabe) Achneepineskum, Evelyn Baxter and Annie Wenjack; her son-in-law: Joe Quinn and her sisters: Louise Achneepineskum and Cindy Coaster. She is pre-deceased by: her husband: Jim Wenjack; her sons: Charlie, George and Samuel; her daughters: Emily, Margaret, Lizzie and Martha; her brothers: twin brother Frederick, Tom, Gabriel and Mike; and her parents: Jean-Baptiste and Mary. Friends will be received at Fawcett Funeral Home (Geraldton) on Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm. A funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Fawcett Funeral Home with Deacon Hugo Tremblay officiating with interment to follow at Pinegrove Cemetery.
