Julien Roy Obituary

JULIEN ROY

Repose toi Julien.

JULIEN ROY

Your fight is over. You may now rest peacefully.

This great man passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at the Geraldton District Hospital on September 23, 2018.

Julien was born to Nélida Champagne and Alphonse Roy on May 13, 1938, in Authier, QC. He was one of 14 children. He married the love of his life, Lise Audet, on November 30, 1963. Work eventually brought Julien, Lise and children to Nakina, Ontario where he worked in forestry for Kimberley Clark. Nakina was home for 41 years. He was a quiet man who enjoyed his family and loved camping, fishing and hunting.  A lot of time was spent outdoors with family.

Life was not always easy for Julien. In 1989 he almost passed after a hard battle with lymphoma. He miraculously got better and was even able to return to work until his retirement. He later had another bout of cancer which he also recovered from. His last illness derived from skin cancer and although he fought hard and probably was cancer free at his passing, his body could no longer stand the fight. He was a brave man who fought hard to stay with his family for as long as he could. Heaven gained an angel. He is now at rest and leaves us with examples of how to live, how to love, how to be a good person. Forever he will be missed. Rest in Peace dear Julien. You`ve made a difference in our lives. Your beautiful smile, your sense of humour, your strong hands and your calm demeanour will forever be engraved in our memory and in our hearts.

Julien is survived by his loving wife Lise, his children Styve (Caroline) and Line (Curtis). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Stéphanie (Eric), Danna, Sesley, Brandy, Brandin, Stephan, Rebecca, Nikita and Jackson. He leaves behind brothers and sisters as well: Thérèse (Roger), Lucie (Raoul), Reina (Maurice), Marcel (Francine), Gérard (Gaétane), Denis, sister in law Lorraine (Raymond) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law, cousins and friends and great grand children: Chance, Josiah, Jacob, Nolan, Noah, Letitia and Isabella.
