It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our Mother, Laurie Winifred Cain (nee Brennan) at the age of 85 on Monday October 29, 2018 at the Geraldton District Hospital.
She will be sadly missed by John, Christina (Lennard), Louise (Mike) and Donna, and her many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Laurie was preceded in death by her Husband Leonard and Sister Netta, and survived by her Brother John.
Laurie was born in Longford Ireland, and after many years of travel she moved to Canada in the early sixties where she meets her long life love, Leonard. Mom and Dad eventually settled in Manitouwadge making it their home for over 40yrs.
Mom spent her life in Manitouwadge doing what she loved the most, cooking. She spends over 25yrs running the kitchen at the Manitouwadge Motor Hotel, where she created the reputation of the best food in town. During these years Laurie made some long lasting friendships and will be sadly missed by Jackie, Anne and Josie.
No funeral services will be held as per her request. A celebration of life will take place in Longford Ireland where her ashes will be placed alongside her Mother, Father, and little Sister.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Laurie’s name can be made to the Heart & Stroke foundation, or the Geraldton District Hospital Palliative care or Hospice suit.
