Mrs Marta Koger nee Hiett

The family announce with sorrow her death at home on October 12, 2017 at the age of 94 years young. Beloved mother of Johan and dearest mother in law to Sylvie. She was pre deceased by her husband Oskar Koger in November of 1963 and her daughter Pia Hiett Mitchell in November 1997. She will be sadly miss by her extended family, Gramma adopted Sylvie’s family and friends with open arms. Marta was born on the outskirt of Viljandi Estonia on March 19, 1923. Along with her 3 year old daughter Pia, she immigrated to Patterson, New Jersey in 1951. After a brief stay in New Jersey, she immigrated to Geraldton to join her husband Oskar. And made this her home till her passing. Mom had a passion for gardening, baking the best desserts in the world (especially her famous Estonian birthday cake that many of us enjoyed), sewing and she was an avid reader. She was very proud of her heritage and her new found family. Mom aka Gramma will be sadly miss by all. RIP MOM, we will keep you close to our hearts and live with all the beautiful memories. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the BA Parker Breakfast Program or GCHS Snack Program. Kalli Kalli, puhka rashus MOM. A funeral ceremony for Marta will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home on Friday October 20, 2017 at 2:00pm with Fr. Cyrille Ogbabo officiating with interment to follow at Pinegrove Cemetery.
