Sean Bérard Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Sean Patrick Berard announces his passing after a difficult battle with cancer on Sunday August 19th at the tender age of 57.  Sean will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 32 years Danielle, children:  Mathieu – Edmonton, Cassandra (Joseph) – Thunder Bay and Dominic (Tasha) – Longlac.  Sean will also be remembered with fond memories by his first grandson born July 11, 2017, his pride and joy; Mateo Sean Foresta.  Sean was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Dorothy Berard.  He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly;  his brother Mike, cousins, aunts and uncles and in-laws Maurice & Claire Comeau, Bert (Suzie), Jocelyn (Maureen), Celine (France), Carmen (Rodney) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their children.

Sean’s passion was truly to be kind to all who came into his life.  He was a man of his word and respected everybody and was also well respected.  He enjoyed life so much, always with a smile and even in his most difficult times he never got discouraged.

Leaving Ottawa in 1985 to make a life in Longlac to start a family he began working at the mill for many years and then realizing a dream he always had, to become owner of a Confectionary store, making this a reality.   He enjoyed people so much he was sincerely in his element.  Working long hours he always had time for family and friends and family time was always priority.  His lasting years were to be where he worked so hard to get at; his retirement home at Margo Lake.  Many hours well spent there playing guitar, snowshoeing, boating, swimming with great company.  Sean had succeeded at making our lives the most enjoyable for all.

He will be missed by all who knew him, the guy with a smile, most loving father to his children, grandfather to Mateo, loving husband to his wife.  He also leaves behind his whole family and friends a gift that will never be forgotten, his love for life and has proven it many times with his “thumbs-up” and known to us as “the man with a heart of gold”.

Rest in peace my darling and look over us until we meet again.  His legacy will live on forever.  Love your family.
