Valerie Cox Obituary

It’s with great sadness that the family of Valerie April Cox announces her passing after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday August 12th, 2018 at Geraldton District Hospital at 66 years of age. Valerie was born March 22nd, 1952 in Altona, Manitoba to Tina and Howard Friesen. Valerie lovingly married Fredrick B. R. Cox on December 18th, 1993 in Atherley, Ontario. Valerie will be fondly remembered by her husband of 30 years, Fred Cox. Her siblings David Friesen and Jack Friesen. Her children Josh and Dustin, step children Mark, Shaun and Jason Cox. Proud grandmother of 14 and great grandmother to 1. She was known to be very loving and caring with the patients of a saint, always seeing the brighter side of things. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and the Geraldton District Hospital and the welcoming community of Nakina, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
