Adelard Cloutier

After a long happy life of 79 years, it is with heavy hearts our family announces the peaceful passing of Adelard Cloutier at Hogarth Riverview Mannor in Thunder Bay, Ontario on January 15, 2021.  Beloved husband of Juliette Cloutier and dearest Father of Natalie (Luc) Fortier, Serge (Theresa) Cloutier, Marc (Samantha) Cloutier, Vincent (Mark) Cloutier. He will be sadly missed by his 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and all his nieces and nephews.  He is survived by his wonderful sister Alice (Pat) Cyr and dear brother Adrien (Debbie) Cloutier.  Pre-deceased by his parents Fernande and Phillipe Cloutier, his daughter Renelle Cloutier, his sisters Adrienne Cloutier and Aurore Miller, his brother Ludger Cloutier, and his granddaughter Stephanie Fortier. Adelard was born October 5, 1941 in Devitt Township of the Cochrane District.  He resided in Mattice with his parents until his father deceased in 1967.  He then moved to Cochrane with his family where he soon met, fell in love, and married his first wife, Paulette Cloutier September 16, 1967 and had 5 children with her.  They moved to Nakina in 1977 to pursue his 23 year career as a chainsaw and skidder operator for Kimberly Clark.  Adelard took pride in being able to provide for his family.  He was a hard and dedicated worker.  After 19 years of marriage, he and Paulette had an amicable divorce. In 1987, he met Juliette and fell head over heels for her so he moved her to Nakina to be with him.  They married May 17, 1997 and lived happily together for 30 years until his Alzheimer’s set in and he was moved to Hogarth Riverview Manor in April 2017 where he lived the remainder of his life. Adelard’s family was most important to him and he was proud of them and all their accomplishments.  He adored his grandchildren and was always happy to spend time with them.  He enjoyed hosting holiday gatherings and having his children, grandchildren, and his sister Alice’s family attend.  He was most happy when surrounded by the people he loved. A celebration of life will be held in Nakina at a later date.  Donations to Alzheimer’s Society will be appreciated. C’est avec regret que nous annonçons le décès d’Adelard Cloutier.  Il est décédé paisiblement le 15 janvier 2021, à l’âge de 79 ans, au manoir “Hogarth Riverview“ à Thunder Bay, Ontario.  Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Juliette Cloutier ainsi que ses enfants, Natalie (Luc) Fortier, Serge (Theresa) Cloutier, Marc (Samantha) Cloutier et Vincent (Mark)  Cloutier. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil sa sœur Alice (Pat) Cyr et son frère Adrien (Debbie) Cloutier et ses 7 petits-enfants et ses 2 arrière-petits-enfants, ainsi que tous ses neveux et nièces. Il est prédécédé par ses parents Fernande et Phillipe Cloutier, sa fille Renelle Cloutier, ses sœurs Adrienne Cloutier et Aurore Miller, son frère Ludger Cloutier et sa petite-fille Stéphanie Fortier. Adelard est né le 5 octobre 1941 dans le canton de Devitt, dans le district de Cochrane.  Il résida à Mattice avec ses parents jusqu’au décès de son père en 1967. Ensuite, il déménagea à Cochrane avec sa famille et peu après rencontra et tomba en amour avec sa première épouse, Paulette Cloutier, qu’il  maria le 16 septembre 1967 et eu 5 enfants avec elle. Ils déménagèrent à Nakina en 1977 où Adelard poursuivit sa carrière de 23 années come  bucheron et opérateur de machinerie lourde avec Kimberly Clark. Adelard  a toujours été très fier de pourvoir aux besoins de sa famille. Il était un travailleur acharné et dédié. Après 19 années de mariage, lui et Paulette se sont divorcé amicalement. En 1987 il rencontra Juliette et tomba complètement en amour avec elle. Il la déménagea donc à Nakina pour être avec lui. Ils se sont marié le 17 mai 1997 et ont vécu heureusement ensemble pendant 30 années jusqu’à ce qu’il soit affligé de la maladie de l’alzheimer et qu’il se déplace au manoir “Hogarth Riverview“ en avril 2017 où il demeurera jusqu’au jour où il s’éteint. Adelard était très fier des membres de sa famille ainsi que de leurs exploits. Il adorait ses petits-enfants et passait beaucoup de temps avec eu. Il adorait recevoir ses enfants, petits-enfants et sa sœur et sa famille. Il était un homme heureux lorsqu’il était entouré de personnes qui l’aimaient. Une célébration commémorant sa vie aura lieu plus tard à Nakina. Vos dons à la société Alzheimer seraient grandement appréciés. Nous tenons à remerciés tout spécialement le personnel de “6 South“ au manoir “Hogarth Riverview“ pour leur gentillesse et compassion et merci à la résidence funéraire Fawcett pour leur aide.
