She is survived by her sisters: Jean McKenna (the late Brian Mckenna, who passed away in 2014) of Fort Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan and Isabel Wignall (Albert “Al”) of Lindsay, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Amy was the oldest of five children born on a farm in Saskatchewan to Ada and Reynolds McCubbin. After her formal education she completed a secretarial course and then joined the RCAF serving her country during the 2nd world war. Prior to joining she met Alan the love of her life and after he returned from the war they were married and moved to Macdiarmid, Ontario and then on to Jellicoe where they raised their family. Amy worked 22 years for the Board of Education as custodian for the school in Jellicoe. For many years, on Remembrance Day, she was chosen and was honoured to be “The Silver Cross Mother” for the fallen soldiers.

Thank you to all the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Geraldton District Hospital Acute Care Floor for the wonderful, kind, compassionate care you gave Amy the last few months. A special thanks to you, Karen, for your loving companionship and never ending thoughtfulness and care you gave Amy when we, her sisters, were unable to be there. Amy will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

As per Amy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
