Blanche Bolduc Obituary

Blanche Bolduc (nee: Bruneau)

March 10, 1939 – May 16, 2022

Blanche, 83 years old, from Geraldton, Ont. passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on May 16th, 2022 after a lengthy battle with heart disease. We want to say it was more from a broken heart after losing the one and only love of her life 6 years ago.

Blanche was born in Authier-Nord, Quebec on March 10, 1939, to Lionel Bruneau and Rosanna (nee: Neveux). They were a family of 13 children and growing up was not always easy. After leaving Authier-Nord at the young age of 17, she ended up in Longlac, Ontario, to pursue a better life. It wasn’t long before she met many people that would become her lifelong friends. She went on to find her first job at Cecile’s Fashion and a little restaurant called “BA,” where she would meet, Rejean Bolduc. They married shortly after on April 1st, 1959, and then expanded their family by four, their children Garry, Yvon, Nancy and William. They then built their lives in Longlac.

Blanche and Rejean eventually moved to Thunder Bay in 2009 where they retired nicely in their little home where she would often speak fondly of her challenging, yet rewarding, work for Red Cross and at the nursery years before. They kept busy by gardening, working outside, and making their home a place they never wanted to leave.  Not long after, Rejean was diagnosed with dementia, eventually succumbing to the disease in 2016. This was when Blanche sold their beautiful home and moved back to Geraldton to live with Garry and his wife, Elsie. They provided her with a safe and loving home until her last days. She felt happy and at peace here with her family.

Her family was her whole world. Although three of her children lived far away, she managed to keep herself updated on her children’s and grandchildren’s lives on a weekly basis through phone calls and pictures. She had a love for life and laughter. She had many friends but kept her circle tight.

Blanche was known as a kind, loving and gentle soul to all who knew her.

She will be forever missed by so many people, but she will never be forgotten.

Blanche will be lovingly remembered by her children: Garry (Elsie), Yvon (Micha), Nancy (Dave), William (Josée). Grandchildren: Dale, Annette, Cindy, Jesse, James, Kody, Shaina, Jayme, Brandon, Kayla, Joy and Isaiah. Great grandchildren: Carter, Aidan, Erika, Brianna, Drewe, Paisley, Gabriel and Avah. Her Sisters: Irene, Lisette, Monique, Desneige, Gaetane, and brother Marcial. As well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Blanche was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years Rejean, her parents Lionel Bruneau and Rosanna Neveux, brothers and sisters: Marcel, Real, Leo, Tancrede, Beatrice, Solange and Angela

Special thanks to the Geraldton Hospital Staff in her last days, her wonderful nurses, Dr. Dimova and to her special friend Helene Gallant throughout the years for her support, kindness and friendship.
