Burt Haavaldsrud

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Burt Sigmund Haavaldsrud of Hornepayne, ON. Burt died at the Hornepayne Community Hospital March 12, 2022. He was 84 years old.

Burt is survived by his wife Barbara, son Tyler (Derri), daughter Becky (Roger), and daughter Belinda (David); grand children – Katelyn (Jordon), Alyssa (Denis), Torrin, and Charlene (Brandon) as well as seven great grand children; nieces and nephews. Burt is predeceased by brothers Walter, Norman, Carl, and parents Olav and Elna Haavaldsrud.

Burt was a man with many hats. He was a son, a brother, a husband, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. He worked and helped run a lumber manufacturing family business always concerned about the welfare of his employees and community.

Besides his hard work and dedication, he had many interests such as prospecting, fishing, curling, horseshoes, coin collecting, bartering.

As a family we will not forget the sound of laughter when he had the opportunity to play with his best friend and grand children.

To celebrate Burt’s Life the family has decided on a private family gathering later and in lieu of flowers please donate to the Long-Term Care – Hornepayne Community Hospital. Warmest respect and admiration go out to the staff.
