EDNA MARIE TOWEDO
The family announces with sorrow her death at the Thunder Regional Health Sciences Centre on February 18, 2022 at the age of 71. Beloved wife (of 51 years) of Abel Celeiro and dearest mother of: Mark Celeiro of Geraldton, Elias Celeiro (Angela) of Thunder Bay, Michael Celeiro of Geraldton and Celia Marie Celeiro of Geraldton. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Roger Towedo (Dorothy) of Aroland, Rolland Towedo of Thunder Bay, Florence Goodchild (Alfie) of Aroland, The late Bernadette Cockroft (Brian) of Aroland, Tony Towedo Jr. (Betsy) of Thunder Bay, Lillian Atlookan (John) of Aroland, Sally Towedo (Sam Kashkesh) of Aroland, Russel Towedo of Geraldton, Laurie Towedo of Aroland and Rosella Freisen (Vern) of Fort McMurray. Pre-deceased by her parents: Tony Ellis Towedo Sr. & Julia Mary Towedo; her daughter: Lola Marie Celeiro and her sister: Bernadette Cockroft. Edna is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and Aunt Edna Charles.
Edna loved spending time with her grandchildren: Nickilas, Justine, Keira, Brooklyn and Michael Jr.
Edna and Abel loved going for long rides in the bush, fishing for pickerel and trout; and going blueberry picking with her sisters. Edna also enjoyed bird watching, volunteering and working for many years at the Thunderbird Friendship Centre in Geraldton.
Friends will be received at Fawcett Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22nd from 1:00-1:30, 2:00-2:30, 3:00-3:30 and 4:00-4:30. A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa R.C. Church (Geraldton) on Wednesday, February 23rd at noon with father Ben Mulenga officiating. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
As directed by the Province of Ontario and the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, the attendance is restricted to 16 people at Fawcett Funeral Home. Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet is mandatory for those attending. Attendance will be on a first come first serve basis.
