ELIZABETH ILDA WOOD (Nee HOLMES)

The family announces with sorrow Beth’s death at the Hornepayne Community Hospital on July 27, 2021 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Ivan and dearest mother of: Gary Wood of Hornepayne and Sharon Chartrand of Hornepayne. Beth is survived by her two grandchildren: Kurt Middlebrooks (Jessica) of Hornepayne and Carter Chartrand of Barrie. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren: Summer Middlebrooks, Skylar Middlebrooks, Tristan Middlebrooks and Wyatt Middlebrooks. Pre-deceased by her sister and brother-in-law: Donalda & Harry Hatch.

Beth grew up in Gravenhurst, she told many stories about the Great Depression and remembered returning from the 2nd World War. She was a long time employee of the Rubberset.  Elizabeth moved to Hornepayne in 1966 and loved the north.  She was a good woman who loved her family very much.  She was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor.  She loved the story of Esther and Ruth in the bible and any other story that had women in them.

 A graveside ceremony for Beth will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Hornepayne Cemetery.
