Elsie Anny Michon – February 14th 1932 – July 24th 2019
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our Loving Mother, Elsie Anny Michon who succumbed to a lengthy illness on July 24th, 2019. Elsie fought a courageous battle against Mixed Dementia and Diabetes.
Elsie was born in Hearst, ON, and raised for a very short time in Pagwa River. Having been orphaned from a young age, Elsie was raised at McIntosh Residential School which she remembers mostly with fond memories. Elsie met the love of her life, Lloyd after her time at the school and resided in MacDiarmid ON, where she started her family. Having relocated to Geraldton with her husband and children in1964, Elsie was a long-time member of the community where she raised her children. Elsie is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Maggy Iserhoff, her Husband Lloyd and her first born child Beatrice. She leaves behind her children Ernest (Manon), Bernadette, Clarence, Vivian,Brian and grandchildren Aaron and Lennox Michon.
Elsie was surrounded by her children and was at peace at the time of her passing. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Geraldton Thunderbird Friendship Centre on Tuesday July 30th from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 104 2nd Ave NW, Geraldton. Elsie will be laid to rest beside her husband Lloyd at the Pinegrove Cemetery, with a small gathering to take place at the Thunderbird Friendship Centre with light refreshments at 1pm.
Donations may be made to the Geraldton Thunderbird Friendship Centre. Elsie was a lifetime member, having stood by her husband Lloyd, who donated countless hours of his time to the core values of the organization.
