It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eva Taylor-Wesley on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the age of 81. Eva was born in Morrison River on September 5, 1942.
She is predeceased by her daughter Eva Wesley Jr., her parents Adeline and Allen Taylor, her siblings David, Martha, Albert, Maria, Mary, Sinclair, Donald, Eva, Anna and Graham Allen and her grandparents, who were from Moosonee and Moose Factory.
Survived by her daughter Rachel Flood (Jason) and son Peter Miller and her 9 grandchildren; Dean, Robyn, Meegen, Jai’Lin, Noodin, Ana, Asiaw, Tanner and Taryn and her great grandson Ezra, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Eva will be remembered for her tireless work in the community of Hornepayne, working with others in a kind and compassionate way. She also volunteered her time and was committed to making a difference.
Eva was an avid trapper; she lived off of the land and would transfer her knowledge to her children and grandchildren. She was skilled at sewing making quilts, dresses, regalia’s, ribbon skirts and moccasins. Eva loved the taste of bush tea and would make it as often as she could.
Eva was loved by all who knew her. Her home was a welcoming place for all to go into as you would be greeted with a smile and would share many great laughs. She was a loving, caring, religious person with a genuine heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Eve Wesley-Taylor’s honour on Friday, January, 19th from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the Hornepayne Royal Canadian Legion Br # 194, 48 Sixth Avenue.
Burial will take place at a later date.
