Frances Schwantz Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Schwantz announces her passing on July 6, 2019 at Wilson Memorial General Hospital in Marathon, Ontario at the age of 96. She was born on March 9, 1923 in Hearst, Ontario. Frances moved to Marathon with her husband, Kenneth and their five children in 1956 and spent the rest of her days there.
She is survived by sons Ernie (Ruth) and Elgin, daughter-in-law Bonnylea Schwantz and son-in-law Geoff McGrath, all of Marathon; her siblings Paul Cloutier, Philippe Cloutier and Irene Gauldreault, all of Sault Ste. Marie. She will be greatly missed by 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her 3 children, Roger and Paul Schwantz, and Louise McGrath, her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Schwantz, her sisters Simone Hunter, Marie Hall and her brothers, Rene Cloutier and John Cloutier.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 3:30 p.m. at Holy Saviour Roman Catholic Church in Marathon. If friends so desire, memorial donations in her memory may be made to The Long-Term Care Unit of Wilson Memorial General Hospital or the charity of your choice.
