FRANCESCO GAGLIARDI

The family announces with sorrow his death at the Hornepayne Community Hospital on February 6, 2023 at the age 94. Beloved husband of the late Esterina and dearest father of: Filomena Vecchio (the late Casper Vecchio) of Hornepayne, Ontario,  John Gagliardi (Mary-Carol Gagliardi) of Victoria Harbour, Ontario and Danielle Gagliardi of Chelmsford, Ontario. He is survived by his sister-in-law: Lina Gagliardi (the late Mario Gagliardi) of London, Ontario. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Gina, Debbie, Andrea, Carla and Michael and by his great-grandchildren: Mekenzie, Jenna, Cooper, Jared, Julianna, Lincoln, Franky and Russell. Pre-deceased by his brothers and sister: Rosina, Giuseppe (the late Gilda) and Mario; as well as his grandchild: Jamie Vecchio.

Francesco was born on September 20, 1928 in Malito, Italy. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 94. Frank worked for the Canadian National Railway for 38 years until his retirement in 1993. He was and avid gardener and loved his daily walks around the community, but most of all, he loved his entire family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff, nurses and doctors at the Hornepayne Community Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Reid Cameron for his continuous support throughout the years.

Friends will be received at Holy Name of Jesus RC Church (Hornepayne) on Thursday, February 9th from 11am to 12pm. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Name of Jesus RC Church (Hornepayne) on Thursday, February 9th at 12pm with Father Duolomane Okamba officiating. The interment will be held at a later date. Donations to the Hornepayne Community Hospital would be appreciated.
