The family of Gabrielle Nancy Kashkeesh of Aroland First Nation is saddened to announce her passing on August 22, 2022 at the age 30.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her parents: Gabriel and Vanessa Kashkeesh; her siblings: Joey Kashkeesh and Britiny Jabic; her nieces and nephews: Lauren, Journey and Gavin; and her grandfather: Peter Jabic.
Pre-deceased by her first love, Kris Meshake, her grandmother: Alice Jabic; grandparents: George and Alice Kashkeesh and great grandparents: Peter “Beedan” and Elizabeth “Gokwe” Atlookan.
Nancy was a hilarious, caring, honest, strong, independent woman who excelled at anything and everything that she tried: a true natural. Nancy tackled a job as an operator at Musselwhite Mine, a career that she loved and was good at; an industry dominated by men but had the ability and knowledge to show them how it’s done.
The best auntie there is, spoiling and caring for her nieces and nephews.
She’s BIMS, our parents’ baby girl, the one who could get away with anything, and Nancy was unapologetic and quick to react which is one of her best qualities. A little woman who was the life of the party and a force to be reckoned with, someone you couldn’t miss anywhere she was. She was someone to have in your corner; very loyal and always willing to help others. For everyone who knew her and be in her presence was that it was always loud when she was joking, teasing and laughing. Not a day went by where you wouldn’t see her smiling face.
She enjoyed the outdoor and always went up to the lake to fish no matter how late or what the weather was like. She loved spending time with family and hanging with her friends. She was always up for a fun adventure and making the best out of any situation.
We love you BIMS.
We will see you again.
