Gordon Weedmark Obituary

Gordon Weedmark

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our father Gordon Wallace Charles Weedmark, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Prairie Lake Hospice, at the age of 91 years.

Gordon was born May 16, 1929 in Neelin, MB. At an early age, he ventured from Manitoba to Geraldton, ON, where he worked in the MacLeod Cockshutt Gold Mine for a few years. His next job was with Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper. He started out as a scaler and worked his way up to Woodland’s foreman.

He was very active in the community. He worked for 20 years with the Roman Catholic School Board, followed by the District Board for a number of years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 55 years and served as the Grand Knight at one time. He was always involved with the church in raising money and managing the Friday night bingos. He had 6, children, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Gordon leaves to mourn his daughters: Sarah (Keith) Lange, Patricia Sheahan, Colleen (Danial) Kott, Genevieve (Gary) Klassen, and Kerry (Frank) MeHaffey; grandchildren: Gordon (Michelle) Lange, Patrick (Pamela) Lange, Mary (Kevin) Sheahan, Christine Sheahan, Justin (Kayla) MacIver, Kristy (Neil) Blackman, Jared MeHaffey, Jordan MeHaffey, and Jennifer (Dwayne) DeGagne; great-grandchildren: Charlie Lange, Griffin Lange, Ethan Lange, Jacob Lange, Jaime MacIver, Korey MacIver, Jaxsyn MacIver, Laine DeGagne, Tucker DeGagne, Curtis Sheahan, Paige Nolan, Olivia Blackmore, Declan Blackmore, Taylor Reid, and Brooke Reid.

Gordon was predeceased by his parents Albert and Isabelle Weedmark, wife Mary (1995), eldest daughter Mary Ellen Devine (2006), son in-law Richard Devine (2013), and son in-law Joseph Sheahan (2019).

The honourary pallbearers at the service will be: Gordon Lange, Patrick Lange, Ethan Lange, Jacob Lange, Jordan MeHaffey, Jared MeHaffey, Laine DeGagne, Tucker DeGagne, Charlie Lange, Griffin Lange, Curtis Sheahan, and Justin MacIver.

We would like to thank the staff at Prairie Lake Hospice, RNs Hosna, Alissia, Aurora, Monique, Jen, Nikki, Shawna, Trisha, Amy, Linda, Amy, Britney, Tracey, Kim, and Marisol, for your excellent care. Dad always talked how good you all were and compassionate.
