Mrs. Irene Eveline Brisard nee Nayanookeesic

The family announces with sorrow her death at her home in Jellicoe with family by her side on June 25, 2022 at the age of 67 years.

Beloved wife of Joseph “Ossie” Brisard and dearest mother of Georgina Nayanookeesic, Priscilla Graham (Robert), Christopher Graham and step mother to Bryon Brisard (Gerry), Delena Binguis, William Brisard (Mandy), Francine Donio and Joanne Dutil.

She will be sadly missed by her beloved 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren – all affectionately known as her babies – regardless of their age. These were who she fought for and loved the hardest.

She is survived by her brothers; Joe Nayanookeeshik (Peggy), George Nayanookeesic (Tuulikki), Harvey Nayanookeesic(Sherri), John Shawayahamish(spouse-June), and her Sisters; Mary “Ota” Metansinine(John) and Susan “Cuboo” Lemieux as well as numerous sisters and brothers – in law, nieces, nephews and godchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents Alex and Alexsandra Nayanookeesic, her Brothers Henry “Hank” Nayanookeesic, Harry “Moon” Nayanookeesic, James “Jimmy” Nayanookeesic, Gary “Shig” Nayanookeesic and Maurice Fournier, her sister Elizabeth “Bushy” Ross, her spouse James “Jim” Graham, and her stepson  Dollard Brisard

Irene spent her life being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Gogo” and great-grandmother, these were her proudest achievements. She cherished her home and family above all else, along with her beloved pets Max and Paco. She enjoyed spending time camping at Partridge Lake with family and friends and also loved to play Bingo – where she made many friends over the years.

Her unconditional love, loyalty and strength are what we will keep in our hearts forever.

Cremation has taken place and the Funeral Services will be held at the Neill Arthur Memorial Hall in Jellicoe ON, on Saturday July 2, 2022 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Rick Mikesh officiating. There will be a luncheon immediately after the service at the same location.
