Kaine Echum-Nelson Obituary

It is with great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Kaine Nekia John David Echum-Nelson, Indigenous name Redfeather, beloved son of Clarine Echum and Ron Nelson, was born on May 18, 2001 at Thunder Bay Hospital.  Dearest younger brother to Wyatt and Raeden.  Loving Uncle to Zayne Fugére-Echum.  He is predeceased by his brother Drake, Grandma Alvina Echum, Grandma Virgina Nelson, Grandpa George Abernot, Grandpa Gabriel Echum and Grandma Celia Echum, Uncle Myles Echum.  He was a nephew to many aunts and uncles and had multiple cousins.  Kaine attended Geraldton Composite Highschool and graduated in 2020.  He loved learning, was eager to go to school and also enjoyed journaling.  He attended Operating Engineers Training Institute of Ontario and graduated as a Heavy Equipment Operator in 2021.  He worked as an operator with JJR Chii Nishin Contractors.  He loved watching hockey, hanging out with his friends and attending pow-wows within his community, Ginoogaming First Nation.
