Pierre Gravel

Pierre Joseph Edgar Gravel passed away peacefully at the John Owen Evans Residence in Geraldton on February 2, 2023 surrounded by his family.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Marc, Chris and Shirley and his grandchildren Breanna and Darius.   His siblings; Carmen Laberge (Camille), Jeannette Levesque (the late Jacques), Antoine (Margaret), Raymond (Sylvie), Normand (Georgette), Jacques (Lorraine), Nicole Boulianne (Marcel), Andre (Lise), Conrad (Suzanne), Michel (Diane), Gerald (Lise), Renee Baker (Morris) and Luc (Denise). As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pierre was predeceased by his parents Charles Edouard and Antoinette (nee Gagnon) Gravel. His brother Bertrand and sister Hermance (the late Yvon).

Pierre was born in Fauquier Ontario on August 6, 1948.  He worked at various places throughout his younger years.  He worked in a few mines such as Macleod Cockshutt, one in the Sudbury area and the Yukon.  He then settled in Windsor, Ontario in 1971 where he married Ghislaine.  He worked at the Ford Plant and went on to have 2 boys.  In 1977 he moved to Geraldton to work for Kimberly-Clark and where he had his 3rd child.  Pierre retired from Kimberly-Clark in 2004.  In 2007 Pierre suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed and changed his way of living.  His children have been his support throughout these years.  Pierre lived out his last years at the John Owen Evans Residence.

We would like to thanks the staff at the John Owen Evan Residence, the Geraldton District Hospital and Fawcett Funeral Home for your compassionate care and loving hands in the care of our beloved father.  Also a special thank you to Magella Dumais for your continuous friendship and your visits right up until the very end.

As per Pierre’s wishes, no Funeral Service will be held.  A Celebration of Life may be held with immediate family at a later date.

For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to The John Owen Evans Residence, The Geraldton District Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
