The family announces with sorrow his death at the Geraldton District Hospital on Thursday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Genevieve and dearest father of: Leslie (Georgette) of Thunder Bay, Maryann (the late Terrance) of Longlac, Lucille (Rodney) of Thunder Bay, Simone (Mervin) of Longlac, Celine (Mark) of Longlac, Edmund (Neena) of Macdiarmid, Dennis (Betty Jean) of Kenora, Graham of Longlac, Maureen (Patrick) of Longlac and Lana of Longlac. He will be sadly missed by 33 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren (with 3 more on the way) and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Pre-deceased by his wife, Genevieve and grandchildren Darren, Matthew, Cameron and Melody. Roy was born and raised in Longlac. One of 12 siblings, all who passed away before him. He was 90 years and 343 days old when he left his children and many, many grandchildren. He had a great will to live and enjoyed being around people. He was devoted to his family and had many great friendships. He is gathered once again with his family and friends who passed before him. He will always be in our hearts. Friends will be received at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 213 (Longlac) as of 4:00pm Monday, October 8th. A funeral mass for Roy will be held at St. John the Baptist R.C. Church (Longlac) on Tuesday, October 9th at 2:00pm with Father Hugo Tremblay officiating. The interment will be held at Longlac Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
