Sean Harold Edward Mykula , of Geraldton, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 at the Geraldton District Hospital at the age of 55, surrounded by family. Sean was predeceased by his wife Joanne just 6 short months prior. Sean missed Joanne with all of his heart and wanted to be with her again. He will be dearly missed by his parents, Harold and Terry Mykula, his sisters, Lisa Kirkland (husband Greg) and Bev Vachon (husband Denis), his niece and nephews, extended family, his best friend Rein Onnis (wife Chantale), his many, many lifetime friends and his staff and customers from the store.
If you were lucky enough to have spent a little time with Sean you laughed a lot, had a beverage in hand and probably have a story or several to tell. In his younger years, Sean frequently engaged in “shenanigans” along with his tight-knit group of friends. He may have been one of the greatest ring leaders ever as he led or joined in on the adventures whole- heartedly. Sean was quite the jokester and loved “pulling your leg” whenever he saw opportunity. It gave him great pleasure to pull one over on you and he was true to character right to the end.
Sean was a respected member of the fishing and hunting community. He knew the local lakes and side roads like the back of his hand. He loved being outdoors ~ fishing, quadding, bird/ moose hunting and being at camp. He enjoyed nothing more than sharing this knowledge and story telling with his fellow fishing and hunting buddies.
Sean was smart as whip and had a memory like a steel trap. He was strong willed, was a hard worker and was skillful in many areas. He was also an entrepreneur and enjoyed running Nicole’s Variety with the love of his life ~ “J” (as he fondly called her). He particularly enjoyed his morning coffee times and shooting the “poop” with his special group of friends at the store. His “Sir-Catch-A-Lot” fish and wild game mix was a favourite of many, and he took great pride in the creation and selling of this mix at the store. Sean was continually learning and fearless in tackling everything new. His work and life experiences were vast, and he could problem solve himself out of just about any situation. He was one smart cookie!
Sean was a “one of a kind”, who lived life large and was loved by many <3 He leaves behind a legacy of strong friendships, endless memories and inspiration to always be true to oneself .
For those wishing, memorial donations can be made to The Geraldton District Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday October 28th, 2023. Place and time to be confirmed.
