Theresa Marie Leona MacPhail (nee Lambert)
1930 – 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Leona MacPhail (nee Lambert), a resident of Geraldton for 73 years, on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the age of 90 years. She was a devoted mother to her 7 children: Neil (Elaine) MacPhail of Chilliwack, BC, Robbie (Ginette) MacPhail of Thunder Bay, ON, Douglas MacPhail of Geraldton, ON, Debby Turner (Les) of Neebing, ON, Mark (Rae) MacPhail of Thunder Bay, ON. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jerry Sewchuk of Thunder Bay, ON and her daughter-in-law Paulanne MacPhail of Longlac, ON. She will be sadly missed by her sister Clara (Glenn) LeRossignol of Thunder Bay, ON and her sister-in-law Daphine Lambert of Thunder Bay, ON. Theresa was proud of her family and is also dearly missed by her seven grandchildren: Cindy, Andre, Jerrylynn, Christopher,Bobbie, Chuckie and Patrick as well as her nine great-grandchildren: Keeghan, Taylor, Ashton, Mikayla, Ashlyn, Hudson, Harper, Hadley and Brynley. She also adored the time she spent with (The Girls), her nieces: Claudette, Susie, Theresa, Margaret, Yvonne, Germaine and Georgette. Theresa was a caregiver since her childhood where as being the second oldest, she attended to her younger siblings. During her marriage to Archie, she attended to Pop MacPhail and also her father Wilfred and later on she cared for her partner, Ed Klaus. Pre-deceased by her husband Archie MacPhail, her partner Edmund Klaus, her son Donald MacPhail, her daughter Patricia Shewchuk, her sisters Jean Boulianne, Margaret Whelan and Georgette Abraham, her brothers Alfred and Allister Lambert, her mother Leona Woodward and her father Wilfred Lambert. She enjoyed raising her children and seeing her family grow through all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked and retired as a custodian at the TD Bank after 25 years of service. She was a lifetime honourary member of the Royal Purple for 53 years. She loved, in her pastime, to pick blueberries up until she was 86 years old. She was a wonderful knitter and also enjoyed gardening. A private funeral mass will be held in Geraldton with a private interment at Pinegrove Cemetery. A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at a later date
